In Memoriam - Niels M. Johnsen
American Skin Association (ASA) honors the memory of an outstanding friend, advisor, and leader, Niels M. Johnsen.
As Chairman and CEO of International Shipholding Corporation, he joined ASA's Board of Directors in 2015.
Mr. Johnsen continued a meaningful family legacy of service, following his mother, Millicent Mercer Johnsen,
whose dedication over more than fifteen years helped develop ASA's Education Council.
Mr. Johnsen expressed pride in carrying forward his mother's work and supporting ASA's critical mission,
an aspiration he fulfilled with distinction.
He brought thoughtful leadership, generosity, and a deep commitment to advancing education in dermatology.
His contributions and spirit will be remembered with lasting gratitude.
